AI Field Notes
Method

How we add finds.

Field Notes files makers’ work as links, with credit, so people can go to the source. We don’t republish media, run a mirror, or turn this into a competitor list. Browse what’s live in the Directory.

  1. 01
    Credit the maker
Name them, link them, leave their assets where they posted them.
  2. 02
    Links only
We point out; we don’t host, scrape, or re-upload their files.
  3. 03
    Makers over lists
No resellers, awesome-lists, mirrored packs, paid placements, or affiliate links. Community events stay with their organisers.
  4. 04
    Say if something’s wrong
Suggest a find, ask for a correction, or request a takedown via email. We aim to act within 7 days.

Where links go

We link to makers' and organisers' own pages: their site, release notes, docs, or their own post. We don't link to resellers, round-ups, mirrors or affiliate pages, and we strip tracking parameters from every link.

Two exceptions. Where an organiser takes entries or sells tickets only through a platform such as FilmFreeway, Festhome or Eventbrite, we link to their own listing there. Timeline milestones have no single maker, so each one links to its Wikipedia entry.

Licences

A licence tag only appears when the maker publishes licence text we can read. We copy the licence name from that text. If there is no licence text, we show no tag.

How links are checked

We check every outbound link on Directory, Models & tools and Competitions cards weekly, usually on a Monday, and follow each one through any redirects. A card gets a new "Checked" date only when all of its links pass and still land on the maker's or organiser's own site. Pages we can't reach that way are checked by hand in a browser, and their old date stays until we do.

What gets removed, and why

Nothing is deleted quietly. A card that fails a check is flagged for a person to look at. We remove or change it if the page is gone, the domain has been sold or parked, the link now leads somewhere other than the maker's site, or the maker asks us to. Corrections and takedown requests by email are handled within 7 days where we can.

News

News notes are dated and each one has its own page. After 90 days a note moves from the main News page to the News archive. It keeps its page and its address; nothing is removed.

A new model goes on Model drops, never in News. When a platform adds a model it didn't make, and that changes what you can do in a cut, it can be a News note that links to the platform's own changelog.

Model drops

Model drops lists releases from the last 90 days, newest first, with the date the maker announced them and a link to the maker's own announcement. Older lines drop off the list. The weekly roundups stay up.

Competitions

Every competition row and page is checked against the organiser's own page: deadlines, fees, prizes and eligibility. If the organiser hasn't published a detail, we leave it out rather than fill the gap. Each page shows when we last checked it, and its status changes to closed after the deadline passes.
