Luma Shot Coverage: more angles from one take

Official Luma launch (15 Oct 2026): Shot Coverage turns one video take into extra moving camera angles you can cut with, so a single shot can be edited like covered footage. In the Luma app; check credits on Luma's plans page before a big run.

What changed

Luma's app now calls it Multi-Angle Shot Coverage. You upload one short clip and get the same moment back from different camera positions. There are three kinds to choose from, labelled performance-led, action-led and spatial-led, and you get one new take for each you tick. The page says it runs on Seedance, and higher output resolutions cost more credits.

Who it's for

Editors stuck with a single take and nothing to cut to. Luma only asks for "one short take" and doesn't say which kinds of footage work best, so try a short test before a big run.

What it means for a cut

One shot on its own leaves you nowhere to cut. Three angles of the same action get you much closer to real coverage, so you can trim a scene, hide a weak moment or change the pace. Sound needs a decision: with audio on, Luma makes new sound and re-voices the dialogue in a different voice; with it off, you get silent takes and can lay your original audio underneath.
