Pika now runs inside ChatGPT, timeline included

Official Pika post (16 Oct 2026): a ChatGPT plugin brings Pika's 40+ apps and 100+ models into ChatGPT on desktop and web, with inline tools and a side-panel studio. The bit that matters for a cut is the timeline: you can adjust timing, regenerate single clips, add transitions and score sound to picture by asking, and everything saves back to your Pika library. Handy for briefs and rough assemblies. Check credit costs before you batch anything.

What changed

Pika's added a plugin for ChatGPT on desktop and web. Once it's connected you type @Pika in a chat and its tools appear right there, or you open a fuller studio in a side panel. Pika puts the count at over 40 of its apps and more than 100 models. Whatever you make also lands in your Pika library, and your first plugin generation earns 250 bonus credits.

Who it's for

You'll need a Pika account. It suits people who already do their thinking in ChatGPT, with the brief, references and script notes sitting in one chat, and don't want to rebuild all that in another tool before making clips.

What it means for a cut

The part that matters in an edit is the timeline. Ask for it in the chat and you can change timing, redo one clip without touching the rest, add transitions and generate sound effects or music to fit the action. That's enough for a rough assembly or an animatic. Pika's post doesn't mention exporting the timeline to an editing app, so we can't yet say whether it hands over cleanly to Premiere or Resolve.
